Pre-Launch Checks

  • Remove all test data such as dummy Pages, Posts or Custom Posts
  • Make sure that there are favicon, mobile icon, social sharing image – http://prntscr.com/ulejde
  • Check Subpages, Login & 404 Page – Settings in Admin > Site Settings > Pages.
  • Check Privacy Policy, T&C and make sure to update or copy the existing policy from their website.
  • Check site responsive site wide, including Login, 404, Thank You, and Policy Pages as well as Mobile Menu Styling ( Mobile / Tablet / Small Desktop 1024px screen size )
  • Make sure all links are working on Frontend ( CTA , Social Media, etc.)
  • Make sure all links / url (sitemap) matches the current site. Run screamingfrog report and save copy of sitemap report. For example current site About Page have a url of https://example.com/about-us need to make sure the new version will have same slug /about-us.  If any case URL structure is different and hard to replicate we need to prepare list of 301 redirects but need to be maximum of 10 redirects if greater than that inform your team lead.
  • Move all CSS from Customizer to the Child Theme (Make sure to check for affected styling)
  • Remove all test data such as dummy Pages, Posts or Custom Posts, and Images (including images that are not related to the website or comes from a cloned website during setup)
  • Update WordPress, Plugins and Themes
  • Reset all Forms View Count
  • Make sure to remove Google MAPs API key on Site Settings if there is no map display on the site (Please use Wappalyzer to identify other resources that are being loaded but not used)
  • Copy existing Google Tag Manager & Analytics from current site ( if there’s an existing ). Create a new GTM or Analytics if there’s nothing found on the current site.
